CITB Health, Safety and Environment Touchscreen Tests

Quinn's Training Services have partnered with the Independent Training and Testing Company - a CITB Internet Test Centre- to offer our customers the three CITB Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) Touchscreen Tests for either Operatives, Managers and Professionals (MAP) or Specialists.

Description

The CITB HS&E touchscreen test is an important way for construction workers to show they can work safely.  For employers, having workers who have passed the CITB HS&E test is assurance that their workforce can keep themselves and those around them safe.

We offer the three separate CITB tests, each of which covers a different level of health and safety knowledge and awareness. Each test is also required when applying for the following CSCS cards:

  • Operative-Labourer card, Trainee card, Apprentice card, most Blue Skilled Worker cards and most Gold Advanced Craft cards.
  • Specialist- Gold Supervisor card, as well as a Blue Skilled Worker card and a Gold Advanced Craft card in certain occupations.
  • Managers and Professionals (MAP) - Black Managers card, and the Academically or Professionally Qualified person cards.

The Operative and Specialist tests cover the following five core knowledge areas:

  • Working environment

Benefits Perceived by Participants

The HS&E Specialist tests equip delegates with the appropriate level of knowledge they need before going on site and is also an essential part of gaining certain CSCS cards.

Quinn's Training Services' partnership with ITTCO provides delegates with support throughout booking, making the testing process as simple and as stress free as possible.

QTS also offers a One Stop Shop day allowing delegates to gain both a health and safety qualification (CITB HSA or IOSH SHECW) and the operatives touch screen test - both of which are required for the application of a Labourer (Green) CSCS card. For more information, please see here:

The CITB H,S & E tests are intended for any construction workers, both new starters and those who are experienced.

Mode for Delivery

Each H,S&E test is an online test which must be taken at an official test centre.  It lasts for 45 minutes and contains 50 questions.  The pass mark for all tests is 90%.  To pass you need to answer at least 45 out of 50 questions correctly.

Prerequisites

There are no pre-requisites to the tests but delegates may benefit from pre-test preparation:

  • For the Operatives and Specialist tests, the official CITB GT100 publication contains all of the content that is covered within the test.
  • For the Managers and Professionals (MAP) test, CITB strongly recommend that candidates allow sufficient time to revise and familiarise themselves with new subject matter before taking the test.

For more information on test revision materials, please visit the CITB website.
