The Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) is designed for site managers or aspiring site managers. It has been created for those with responsibility for managing, monitoring, implementing, and reporting in a construction environment.
Description
The course covers health, safety and environmental legislation which affects safe working in the building, construction and civil engineering industries. It highlights the need for risk assessment in the workplace, the implementation of the necessary control measures and adequate communication to sustain a health and safety culture among the workforce.

Aims & Objectives
On successful completion of this course, delegates should be able to:

Manage and implement health, safety and environmental aspects on site, in accordance with current legal provisions and within the context of their management role.

Recognise that a safe site is efficient, economical, productive and environmentally friendly.
Mode for Delivery
The course is delivered by one of our fully qualified tutors who use a variety of theoretical input, including group exercises, discussions and interactive PowerPoint.
Examination: Attainment of the learning outcomes will be assessed by an examination which consists of 25 questions under exam conditions and which lasts 35 minutes. Delegates are permitted to use the Construction Site Safety – The Comprehensive Guide (GE700) publication and the Construction Site Management Delegate Workbook (XA6) for the last 15 minutes of the exam.

The course further gives an overview of the legislative measures in place to permit employees to safeguard themselves and others affected by work activities.
Onsite Delivery Requirements
A classroom environment with a table and chair for each delegate, power, a clear wall or screen for presenting and suitable welfare facilities. This course also requires a suitable amount of space needed to carry out practical demonstrations and assessments.
Intended For
The SMSTS course is designed for site managers or aspiring site managers with the responsibility for managing, monitoring, implementing and reporting in a construction environment.
Prerequisites
Delegates should hold- or be about to hold- the role of site manager which must be confirmed by a letter/ email from your employer. Previous health and safety knowledge is recommended, for example an SSSTS certificate.
Delegates must provide in-date certificates of any Health and Safety qualifications to enquiries@quinnstraining.co.uk PRIOR to the course date.
Delegates must be competent in written and spoken English necessary for operating efficiently at site management level.
