Site Management Safety Training Scheme Refresher (SMSTS-R) Face-to-Face
The Site Management Safety Training Scheme Refresher (SMSTS-R) is designed for site managers, or aspiring site managers, who have previously completed and passed the SMSTS full course.
Description
This course brings the candidate's health and safety knowledge up to date, as well as giving them a thorough overview of the legislative changes and their impact in the workplace. The course provides an opportunity to revisit the wide range of topics from the original five-day SMSTS course.

Aims & Objectives
The refresher course helps site managers to:

Improve awareness of recent developments in construction, legislation as well as health, safety, welfare and environmental issues.

Identify measures that will assist the practical implementation of responsibilities established by new legislation and working practices.

Implement new guidance and industry best practice.

Consolidate their understanding of responsibility and accountability for site health, safety, welfare and the environment.
Mode for Delivery
The course is delivered by one of our fully qualified tutors, who use a variety of theoretical input, including group exercises, discussions and interactive PowerPoint.
Examination: Attainment of the learning outcomes will be assessed by an examination which consists of 25 questions under exam conditions and which lasts 35 minutes. Delegates are permitted to use the Construction Site Safety – The Comprehensive Guide (GE700) publication for the last 15 minutes of the exam.

Intended For
The SMSTS Refresher course is intended for anyone who has previously passed the full SMSTS course.
Prerequisites
The candidate must have a valid SMSTS certificate in order to sit this course. Delegates must provide in-date certificates of any Health and Safety qualifications to enquiries@quinnstraining.co.uk PRIOR to the course date.
Delegates must be competent in written and spoken English necessary for operating efficiently at site management level.
Onsite Delivery Requirements
A classroom environment with a table and chair for each delegate, power, a clear wall or screen for presenting and suitable welfare facilities. This course also requires a suitable amount of space needed to carry out practical demonstrations and assessments.
