With over 475 work-related accidents a minute happening in the construction industry, effective health and safety training has become vital for every company.  The IOSH Safety, Health and Environment for Construction Site Workers course is an excellent way to provide your employees with the core knowledge needed to stay safe on construction sites and embed good understanding and techniques into their daily work practice.

The operatives touch screen test is to give delegates a basic level of health, safety and environmental awareness. We offer these courses as a 1 day package to gain both qualifications to apply for a labourer CSCS card.

Aims & Objectives

On completion of this course, delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the importance of working safely on a construction site.
  • Identify everyone’s responsibilities in relation to health, safety and wellbeing on a construction site.
  • Understand the basics of health, safety and environmental law and the key legal requirements for construction sites.
  • Identify construction site hazards and risks, their impact and how to control them.
  • Understand site environmental management, including management of waste and ecology.
  • Understand how to manage high-risk activities safely.
  • Identify any dangers to the health of construction site workers and how to mitigate them.

The CITB Operatives test:

This test covers the following five core knowledge areas:

  • Working environment
  • Occupational health
  • Safety
  • High risk activities
  • Specialist

This course is intended for anyone who works on or around a construction site or anyone who has cause to visit it in their course of work.

Mode for Delivery

This course is delivered by one of our fully qualified IOSH-approved tutors who use a variety of practical and theoretical input, including:

Assessment is completed through a thirty-minute multi-format examination taken at the end of the course.

The touch screen test is a 45-minute exam consisting of 50 questions.
