The EUSR Safe Control of Operations (SCO) Core qualification provides a framework and associated processes which enable individuals employed by the gas distribution networks to demonstrate an appropriate level of knowledge and understanding.
Aims & Objectives
On completion of this course, delegates will be able to:

State the purpose, process and main features of SCO Procedures

Describe the elements of the risk-based hierarchy in relation to SCO

State the roles and responsibilities of individuals within SCO
-
Describe the procedure to follow in the event of a deviation or emergency situations
-
State the importance of record keeping, monitoring and auditing for SCO activities
-
State the SCO competence requirements
-
Describe the procedure to follow when individuals transfer work to another employer, or GDN
-
State the requirements of Energy & Utility Skills SCO registration

For Competent Persons, candidates must have the ability, training, knowledge and experience to supervise and/ or carry out work on a site in a safe manner.

Candidates must have the ability, appropriate training, knowledge and experience to authorise works to be undertaken in a safe and proper manner.
Onsite Delivery Requirements
A classroom environment with a table and chair for each delegate and room for the tutor to move around. This course also requires power, a clear wall or screen for presenting and suitable welfare facilities.
