Mental health awareness in the workplace has become an essential focus for employees and employers in every sector across the UK. This qualification will allow everyone at every level of employment to develop their underpinning knowledge and understanding of mental health, mental ill health and wellbeing, and so enabling them to start to promote a wellness culture within the workplace.
Aims & Objectives
On completion of this course, delegates will be able to:
- Define mental health and mental ill health and explain risk factors
- Explain the different types of mental ill health and mental illnesses and identify their symptoms
- Outline stigma associated with mental ill health and how it impacts the individual’s experience
- Understand the mental health continuum and how this can change
- Understand and discuss a mental health diagnosis, as well as its limitations and benefits
- Outline strategies to manage their own mental health and identify key sources of guidance and support

Mode for Delivery
The course is delivered by one of our fully qualified, Highfield approved tutors, who use various methods to make the course interesting, relevant and personal to all candidates. These include group and partner work, whole group discussions, interactive tasks.
Assessment of the learning outcomes is completed through a 30-minute multiple choice examination set by Highfield.
Onsite Delivery Requirements
A classroom environment with a table and chair for each delegate, power, a clear wall or screen for presenting and suitable welfare facilities.
