The City & Guilds Level 2 Network Construction Operations (Gas)- Main Layer allows learners to demonstrate the skills and knowledge required by main layers working in the water industry, whose role it is to install gas mains on the distribution network.
Description
This competence-based qualification covers the underpinning knowledge and practical skills required to install water mains on the distribution network. The qualification covers the technical network construction skills required for a main layer, including health, safety and hygiene, and also includes requirements relating to working effectively and maintaining effective working relationships. Learners must produce workplace evidence to show that they can meet the assessment requirements consistently over time.
Aims & Objectives

Intended For
Level 2 is ideal if you are working in network construction and have some relevant knowledge and skills, usually from a role where you've been supervised.
Prerequisites
There are no entry requirements for this qualification. However, as there is a requirement for learners to provide evidence from workplace activities, the learner must be working in the water industry and undertaking main laying activities on a regular basis.
