CABWI Level 2 Network Construction Operations (Water) -Main Layer Face-to-Face
The CABWI Level 2 Network Construction Operations (Water)- Main Layer allows learners to demonstrate the skills and knowledge required by main layers working in the water industry, whose role it is to install water mains on the distribution network.
Description
This competence-based qualification covers the underpinning knowledge and practical skills required to install water mains on the distribution network. The qualification covers the technical network construction skills required for a main layer, including health, safety and hygiene, and also includes requirements relating to working effectively and maintaining effective working relationships. Learners must produce workplace evidence to show that they can meet the assessment requirements consistently over time.
Prerequisites
There are no entry requirements for this qualification. However, as there is a requirement for learners to provide evidence from workplace activities, the learner must be working in the water industry and undertaking main laying activities on a regular basis.
Intended For
This qualification is one of the Level 2 qualifications that may be taken by apprentices working on the SASE apprenticeship framework for The Water Industry. It can also be used to up-skill existing staff.
Mode for Delivery
Assessment for the Level 2 Certificate in Network Construction Operations (Water) - Main Layer is conducted using a portfolio of evidence. CABWI has produced documentation to support the recording of performance and knowledge evidence, which can be used to support assessment.
The majority of learners’ evidence for the qualification must be generated from real work activities, and learners must be working in the water industry and undertaking main laying activities on a regular basis.
Aims & Objectives
For a full Level 2 Network Construction Operations (Water) – Main Layer, the learner must complete all of the mandatory units from either the Self-Lay or the Distribution Pathway. Eleven mandatory units are required for the Self-Lay Pathway, and there are twelve mandatory units in the Distribution Pathway.
