Specially tailored to the needs and requirements of your employees, this course will provide them with the theory and knowledge needed to safely direct and control the movement and operations of excavation plant on and around the work site.
This course is EUSR approved and the qualification can be added to a candidate's EUSR card.

Aims & Objectives
On completion of this course, delegates will be able to:

Discuss planning using company documents and work instructions

Discuss the methods that can be used to control safe excavating

Identify the different services and detecting locators available

Understand safe digging techniques and the different methods of excavation safety

Describe the roles and responsibilities of a Banksperson and Excavator Operators

Demonstrate Banksperson duties including hand signals and verbal instructions.

Understand suitable actions and procedures for when things go wrong

Understand the legal regulations that must be complied with
Mode for Delivery
The course is delivered by one of our fully qualified tutors, who use a variety of theoretical and practical input, including: group exercises, discussions, interactive powerpoint and practical demonstrations.
Examination: each candidate will complete a short, written exam at the end of the course, as well as a practical assessment where they must demonstrate skills learned on the course.

Onsite Delivery Requirements
A classroom environment with a table and chair for each delegate, power, a clear wall or screen for presenting and suitable welfare facilities.
This course also requires a suitable amount of outdoor space to carry out practical demonstrations and assessments approximately 20m x 20m.
Equipment Requirements:
For each course the client is required to provide the following equipment:

Vehicle for delegates to direct and control the movement of plant on and around the work site, barriers if required to segregate practical area
PPE

Safety Boots (steel toe caps) - Hard Hat - Hi vis - Gloves
